Roller Skating

Last Saturday we took Makayla roller skating for the first time. There isn't a whole lot to do in Fallon so we were excited to find out there is a roller skating rink here. Everyone told us how bad it was so we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually very nice. We had a blast. I think Makayla expected to put her roller skates on and be able to go around all by herself. She was a little disappointed to find out it was harder than she thought. But over all we had a great time. Obviously Kyle couldn't skate so Ben was the babysitter this time and didn't skate. Maybe next time we can trade.I was a little worried that Kyle would have a hard time but he loved it!!! All the lights and action going on he was amazed. His favorite part was when Ben and Makayla were playing air hockey. He just watched that puck go back and forth and laughed and laughed. He thought it was hilarious. What a great day!!!

You turn your head for one second and this is what happens!!!Daddy took Makayla on her first date. She was so excited. She picked out her own outfit, packed her purse, and even put on her own makeup. They went out for ice cream and then to the dollar store. Makayla got a new Easter snow globe. They had a blast!!!
Last year we went sledding on Mt. Rose and had so much fun we thought we'd try it again this year. We were all so excited! When we got up there we all got our snow clothes on, stepped outside, and about blew away in the wind. It was actually a beautiful day except for the wind!!! We decided to still try so we slid down the hill (the parking is at the top of the hill) and then Makayla and I proceeded to go back up for a ride. Under the layer of snow was pure ice. It was almost impossible to climb up. Poor Kyle was stunned into silence. We didn't hear a peep out of him the whole time. Finally we put the kids on the sled and took a little walk. After that poor Kyle was so in shock I took him in the warm car and fed him while Ben and Makayla took a couple more rides on the sled. Needless to say it wasn't the best trip ever!!!
Kyle loves to play Peek-a-boo. This is our latest edition of the game. Isn't he is adorable!!!

Update

Wow, how the time flies... If I did a post of all that has happened since my last post it would take forever so here is just a short update. We had a wonderful Christmas in Utah. It was so much fun seeing family. We were sad because one of my brothers and his family weren't able to make it out to Utah. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can see them. Other than that it was great. Makayla was so excited for Santa to come this year. Luckily on Christmas Eve she was so worn out from partying that she went to sleep very fast. I was afraid she'd be up all night!!! We also had a special opportunity to see Kyle's birthmother and her children. We took them out to lunch and it was WONDERFUL. I am always so nervous when we see her but once we meet it is just like old friends. All the nervousness leaves and we just talk and catch up. She is an amazing person!! Kyle is growing up so fast. He just gets cuter and cuter every day. He is turning out to be quite the momma's boy which I absolutely love!!! Every time I come into the room he starts smiling and yelling and reaching out for me. He loves to be in my arms and that is my favorite place for him to be. He has two more teeth coming in so that is a total of six. Crazy!!! He is starting to move around and looks like he might want to crawl some day but he is in no hurry... and neither am I!!!! I don't want to start baby proofing quite yet!!!! Makayla just gets sweeter and sweeter every day. She is doing so well in preschool. She loves her teacher and the kids and everything about learning. Her favorite thing is when she gets to bring homework home and do it. Wow, I hope that lasts. She loves her little brother so much. She has informed me several times that now that she has a baby brother she wants a baby sister. Too bad it isn't just that easy for us. Makayla is so excited to be in a new primary class. She finally doesn't have her mommy teaching her anymore!!!! I have to admit that I do think she missed me just a little bit...hopefully! Well that is about all that is going on. Here are some recent pictures...
