Hoppy Easter!!!

I love easter!  It is such a beautiful time of year.  I love the flowers coming out, the grass turning green, and everything is new and fresh.  I love that we are able to teach our kids what easter is really about. Not the easter bunny, candy, and egg hunts but it is about Jesus and how he died and was resurrected.  I also love making Makayla's easter dress and Kyle's easter tie.  They are so grateful and it makes all the work worth it!
The night before - dying easter eggs.
The next morning the kids followed the easter bunny's footprints to find their baskets.  They were so excited!!!  I think Kyle ate half his basket in that one sitting!  Makayla being Makayla only ate one piece.
After church it was time for our easter egg hunt.  It was such beautiful weather we were able to have it outside this year!  Yay!!!
The kids had so much fun running around the backyard seaching for easter eggs.  Overall, it was a great easter.  We are so blessed to have two beautiful children that make our holidays so amazing and wonderful.

Sacramento, CA For Spring Break

This year we decided to take a quick trip to Sacramento for spring break.  We had a really hard month in March and needed some time away with the kiddos.  This was a perfect get-a-way.
The first place we went was the zoo.  We saw some cool animal but I think this monkey was my favorite.  He just looked at us and stared.
The flowers and plants were beautiful!  Oh how I wish we could have California springs.  Everything was so green!
Kyle's favorite animal.
The kids were amazed by the flamingoes.  Their color was awesome but our favorite part was how they stood on one leg and slept!  Crazy!
Red panda...Ben's favorite.
We had a great time at the park.  Makayla's favorite part was when she was sitting on this rock for a picture and she found a rock in the dirt that looked like a diamond!  She was so excited!  P.S.  She really does think it is a diamond so don't tell her any differently!
Next it was off to Fairytale Town.  Ben is sitting in his rightful place...so he thinks.
The old woman that lived in the shoe.  The kids loved this slide.  Makayla thinks she is a little old to go down slides the normal way so this is what she does.
One of all of our favorites was the crooked mile.
This was after a long day and Makayla was tired and hungry and not in the mood for pictures, but we had to get a picture of this beautiful tree.
The next day it was off to the train museum.  Kyle is still totally into trains so we thought he'd love this and he did.  The surprising thing was how much Makayla was looking forward to it too!
After a few hours at the train museum it was time to go home.  It was a very relaxing trip and we had so much fun with the kids.  They are the most amazing kids ever and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.
