Our Trip To Vegas

We just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and it was wonderful. The kids did great. It got pretty hot like around 120 degrees but other than that it was a lot of fun. My parents were there along with my brother and his family and my sister and her family. Kyle did great until the ride home, and then he lost it. Poor little guy was tired of his car seat and I don't blame him. Makayla had so much fun but she got sick the last day. Thank goodness for medicine!!! Here are some great pictures we took while we were there...
Our little trooper. It was kind of funny because everywhere we'd go Kyle would get so much attention. It was like people had never seen a baby before! There was even someone that wanted their picture taken with Kyle. He is so cute I guess people just can't help it!!!
Just me and my sis with our sweet girls!
My parents with the kiddos.
Mommy's girl.
Daddy's boy.
At the M&M factory.
Makayla loves her grandma...especially when she buys her treats!
Beautiful fountains but 120 degrees?!?! You've got to be kidding me!!!
This was the last day when Kyle was exhausted and Makayla was sick. Ben and I really enjoyed this meal...nice and quiet!!!

All the grandchildren except for Kyle (he was sleeping.)
Saying goodbye!

I LOVE being a mom!!!

I am so blessed to have two beautiful children! I am so happy right now. I know that we are not done having children but as of right now I am so happy and content. I don't think I have ever felt this way. Thank you so much to Brooke and Krista for giving us these sweet, beautiful, perfect children. I love Makayla and Kyle more than I ever thought even possible. They are my whole life. Look at how big my boy is getting!!! Isn't he just the cutest little guy you've ever seen!!!

Somebody stole my tooth!!!

Today during quiet time Makayla came running out of her room saying, "Mommy, somebody stole my tooth!!!" I was a little confused by what she meant so I asked her. She went up to her mirror, looked in it and pointed to her mouth. "Somebody stole my tooth mommy." I realized that she was talking about the space between her top teeth. She thought there used to be a tooth there and it was gone so someone "stole" it. How cute is my little Makayla. I called Ben and told him what Makayla said and he thought it was halarious. I have to say that the funniest things come out of our almost 4-year old's mouth. She keeps us laughing!

Shawcroft Family Fun Night

Ben and I decided that we were overdue for some family time so last Saturday we had Shawcroft Family Fun Night. It was great!!! We all had a lot of fun.

The evening started off with a picnic outside. I had just been to the store that day for a food shopping trip so we had lots of yummy things to eat. We had ham, cheese, crackers, watermelon and homemade cinnamon rolls. Oh yes mommy was on the ball that day!

The wind ended up being so bad we had to move the picnic inside. Then we had to wait until it died down before we could proceed with our fun night.

Finally it was time for the games. First we played soccer. Makayla was so good at kicking the ball. She loved it. She called her ball the ladybug ball which I though was very appropriate.

Next it was time for baseball. Makayla had never played this game before so I took the bat first and showed her how it was done. Ben tossed a beautiful ball right to me. I swung the bat with such perfect precision it went flying straight across the yard in a beautiful arc right into Makayla's head. She was pretty stunned at first and then started crying. I felt sooooooo bad. Here we were trying to have a fun night and I just ruined it. Luckily Makayla is a pretty strong little girl. She cried for a few seconds and then was ready to have her turn trying out the bat. Thank goodness mommy didn't ruin the fun!

After our fun sports it was time to eat Smores. Yum Yum!!! We made a small fire and roasted marshmellows. The wind cause a little bit of problems but everything was worth it. They were wonderful. Kyle even got hungry while we ate so he got his bottle. Poor boy, next year he can join in the sugary goodness. So overall it was a very successful Shawcroft Family Fun Night. We are all counting down the days when we can do it again!!!

Van Mom...

Well, we finally did it. We bought ourselves a van. Ben and I knew that when we got Kyle we'd need a new car so we have been looking for some time now. In the beginning I was so excited because we'd be able to get a SUV and I could join the "cool group." The more we talked about it and to other people about SUV vs. Van we realized that for us a van would be much more practical, and you know us... Ben and Lori the practical king and queen!!! So we came across this van that was just too good of a deal to pass up and we bought it. We love it!!!! There is so much room it is amazing. My favorite thing about it are the automatic doors. All I do is push a button and waalaa... the doors open like magic. Makayla also loves her new car. She was excited to get rid of the "noisy car" (Saturn), give daddy "her car" (Dodge), and now she has the new car. Isn't life great!!! We are so excited to be taking our trip to Vegas in the new car. Even Ben is excited to go now and that really says something!

Our 4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July. The day started out at 6 am with Makayla coming to wake us up. She was already in her new holiday dress and ready to go to the parade. It was my night with Kyle so while I slept in Daddy, Makayla, and Kyle went and got a nutritious breakfast of doughnuts and chocolate milk. So Yummy!!! Then we went to the parade. We met some friends there which made it even more fun. Makayla loved getting candy with her friends and helping them snatch it up before the "big kids" took it all. She was great. During the parade she was so excited and happy. She came up to me and said, "Mommy, this is the best parade ever!!!."
Here's our little family...(thank you Carrie for such a great picture!!!)
Then around 4:00 we went up to Reno. We got pizza and headed off to the park to eat and play.
Next it was off to the fireworks. We had to get there early to get a parking spot so we had some extra time. Makayla was so excited for the fireworks and had a hard time waiting until it was dark. To help the time pass we went and played in the fountains for a while and then just browsed around. Makayla got a balloon hat which she loved. We had to wait in line for about 45 minutes but all we had was time! Here are the best looking men in the park that day...
Finally it got dark and the fireworks started. They were beautiful and amazing. After waiting all day long for the fireworks Makayla watched about two minutes of the show and then told me she wanted to go home. Typical three year old!!! We had a great day. The best part of the day was thinking about last year and although it was a lot of fun I felt that someone was missing from our family. This year we had our sweet little Kyle and my life felt complete!

Fun Stuff...

Most of you probably know that our family loves the show So You Think You Can Dance. We let Makayla stay up a little later on the nights that it is on. She says that she is going to be a dancer on the show when he grow up. She loves to copy the dancers as they are dancing. She is a little nervous with the hostess Cat. Every time Cat comes on Makayla asks me if I like her outfit. Most of the time we agree that we don't. There is a girl on the show named Kayla and Makayla loves her! Last night Kayla was dancing on the show and Makayla said, "Mommy that is going to be me when I grow up." I told her that would be really cool and we'd come and watch her. Then she said, "But I don't want to talk to Miss Cat." It was so funny because she was soooo serious. We told her that when she is on the show she doesn't need to talk to "Miss Cat" if she doesn't want too!!!

Here is another fun video of my sweet, wonderful, and perfect children.
